AL Central futures odds: Indians and Twins in class of their own

In 2018, the Cleveland Indians won the AL Central over the Minnesota Twins by 13 games, and after those two teams, the Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals lost 98, 100 and 104 games, respectively. On Sunday, the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas released its opening 2019 AL Central futures odds, and it appears the oddsmakers are expecting similar separation this year. The Indians are the prohibitive betting favorites to win their fourth consecutive AL Central crown at 1/4. The Twins are the only team within shouting distance of them with 3/1 odds to win the division after finishing in second place in each of the last two seasons. __Play to win:__ [Enter our free contests and win BetChicago prize packs or even cash!](https://betchicago.chalkline.com/) The White Sox finished in fourth last year, but oddsmakers have them a fairly large distance clear of the Tigers and Royals. They’re at 25/1 to win the division, while the Tigers and Royals are both at 60/1 despite similarly poor records in 2018. That’s due in large part to the current state of the White Sox farm system and the potential for some of the younger talent they already have in the Major Leagues to make a jump this season. They’ve got six players in the MLB Pipeline Top 100 prospects list and 20 of the players on their 40-man roster are 25 or younger. __More:__ [White Sox have growing fantasy baseball relevance entering 2019](https://www.betchicago.com/white-sox-fantasy-baseball-relevance-2019) The Tigers and Royals are in earlier stages of their own rebuilding process and so it makes sense that they’re less of a threat. The expectation is that the White Sox are still at least a couple years out from truly contending, but if everything goes perfectly they could get there ahead of schedule and the [lingering possibility](https://www.betchicago.com/white-sox-betting-favorite-manny-machado-odds) that they sign Manny Machado also enhances their prospects of competing in the AL Central. Westgate also released several other MLB futures odds and props on Sunday with spring training games beginning next week. The Indians are at 8/1 to win the most games in the MLB, 5/1 to win the AL Pennant and 10/1 to win the World Series. Opening OVER-UNDER totals for wins were also released on Sunday. The Indians O/U is set at 90.5, the Twins are at 83.5 and the White Sox are at 76.5. Meanwhile, the Royals clock in just ahead of the Tigers with their totals set at 70.5 and 69.5, respectively. For individual player futures, Indians SS Francisco Lindor’s home run title futures were dropped from 50/1 to 100/1 with a calf injury expected to [cost him some time](https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/1713473) to begin the season. White Sox 1B Jose Abreu is healthy this season, but his odds also dropped off from 80/1 to 100/1. Indians 3B Jose Ramirez remains at 80/1 to win the crown and Twins OF Eddie Rosario is just behind him at 100/1. Several others players in the division also have listed odds of 200/1 or greater, but one of the more interesting options is White Sox rookie Eloy Jimenez. He’s expected to debut sometime in April and that obviously hurts his chances, but he does have prodigious power. Indians ace Corey Kluber is also one of four co-favorites at 10/1 to lead the Major Leagues in wins. __Read on:__ [More MLB coverage from BetChicago](https://www.betchicago.com/mlb-betting)

<div><p>As legalized sports betting expands, so too are the wagering options available to gamblers. Sportsbooks are getting more and more creative in what they’re posting on their oddsboards. While traditional pre-event bets – such as point spreads, moneylines and totals – remain popular, live betting is become a larger part of the sports betting experience.  Also, prop bets aren’t just for the Super Bowl anymore. In fact, there are props to wager on for practically any sporting event around the world.</p><p>Whether it’s on the <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/nfl-betting">NFL</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/college-football-betting">college football</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/mlb-betting/home">MLB</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/nba-betting">NBA</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/ncaa-basketball-betting">NCAA basketball</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/nhl-betting">NHL</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/soccer-betting">soccer</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/nascar-betting">NASCAR</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/ufc-betting">UFC</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/boxing">boxing</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/horse-racing-odds">horse racing</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/tennis-odds">tennis</a>, entertainment or eSports, it’s difficult to win long term betting on sports. That’s why it’s important to read up on the news that impacts the markets, dig deep into advanced statistics and hear from oddsmakers about how and why lines are moving.</p><p>Here at BetChicago, we follow sports betting from a national and even international perspective, but we put a special emphasis on Chicago, Illinois and the Midwest region. That means, for example, if you’re interested in where the futures odds of the <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/bears-betting">Bears</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/cubs-betting-odds">Cubs</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/white-sox-betting-odds">White Sox</a>, <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/bulls-betting-odds">Bulls</a> and <a href="https://www.betchicago.com/blackhawks-betting-odds">Blackhawks</a> stand, look no further.
