Breaking down odds for what NFL team will draft Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray is fully committed to the NFL, so let's take a look at the betting odds for where he'll be drafted.
Kyler Murray has made it [official](https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/college-sports/collegesports/2019/02/11/oklahoma-qb-kyler-murray-officially-chooses-football-baseball-raised-play-qb-oakland-athletics) -- he's concentrating on football.
The Heisman Trophy winner from Oklahoma, according to many NFL scouts, may be a first-round pick. BetDSI released [odds](https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/Kyler-Murray-NFL-Draft-odds-revealed-declares-127857586/) last month on what team might draft Murray, and here they are:
__OAKLAND RAIDERS (+250)
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (+300)
NEW YORK GIANTS (+350)
WASHINGTON REDSKINS (+450)
ARIZONA CARDINALS (+500)
DENVER BRONCOS (+700)
MIAMI DOLPHINS (+700)
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (+2000)__
Let’s breakdown each team’s chances of drafting Murray:
__Oakland:__ I run my own Raiders’ [website](https://raiderssnakepit.redescribe.com/), and these odds surprise me, though I don’t personally see Oakland as the favorite to draft Murray. However, I’ve also learned to never say never, especially when dealing with Jon Gruden. I mean, he’s the guy who jettisoned Khalil Mack. Oakland quarterback Derek Carr had his [contract](https://www.silverandblackpride.com/2019/2/6/18214050/raiders-qb-derek-carrs-2019-salary-becomes-guaranteed-today) become guaranteed for $67 million over the next three years last week. But it is probably still a tradable contract if the Raiders wish to move on. So, if Gruden falls in love with a quarterback, I can see him making a move. The Raiders have three first-round picks -- Nos. 4, 24 and 27 -- from the Mack and Amari Cooper trades. So, Oakland can take a chance on Murray, but I don’t find the +250 being a great buy.
__Jacksonville:__ The Jaguars have to do to do something at quarterback. Going with Blake Bortles again isn’t going to fly, and this is a leadership group that has to win now. I would think the Jaguars would prefer to try and sign Nick Foles in free agency, than draft a rookie. But if they don’t, Murray could make some sense at No. 7, although that may be a little high.
__New York Giants:__ The Giants could get in Jacksonville’s way at No. 6. They desperately need a young quarterback, whether or not Eli Manning returns in 2019. A Murray-Saquon Barkley matchup would be intriguing. I could see this being a decent bet at +350, although there was a [report](https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/02/11/report-kyler-murray-probably-a-little-too-small-for-giants/amp/?__twitter_impression=true) Monday that said Murray may be too small for the Giants' liking.
__Washington:__ With [doubt](https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/01/01/with-alex-smiths-future-uncertain-quarterback-is-redskins-no-offseason-priority/?utm_term=.96c1b7cd44) about Alex Smith’s future because his broken leg, the Redskins may need a starter in 2019. But they also may need a long-term situation. The Redskins draft No. 15. If Murray has a strong performance at the Combine later this month and at his pro day, the Redskins may have to trade up to get him. There should be opportunities. The first three teams in the draft -- Arizona, San Francisco and the New York Jets -- aren't in the quarterback market.
__Arizona:__ [Speculation](https://www.sbnation.com/2019/1/10/18176792/kliff-kingsbury-kyler-murray-2019-nfl-draft-no-1-overall-good-news-kliff) about a Murray-Cardinals marriage exploded when video emerged of new Arizona coach Kliff Kingsbury saying last year he’d draft Murray No. 1. Kingsbury was then the coach at Texas Tech. Now, he is the coach of the team with the No. 1 pick. Cute story, but the Cardinals just drafted Josh Rosen in the first round last year. Kingsbury was hired to develop Rosen. So, the Cardinals will likely go elsewhere with the top pick.
__Denver:__ The Broncos need a quarterback and they have been [connected](https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-2019-nfl-draft-rumor-drew-lock-to-denver-broncos) to Missouri’s Drew Lock at No. 10. John Elway needs to hit this quarterback move after failing on Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch. Murray is historically [short](https://twitter.com/SeifertESPN/status/1095038232637595648) at 5-9. Lock makes more sense for Elway.
__Miami:__ This could be a sneaky good bet. It’s great value at +700. The Dolphins need a quarterback of the future and a they need to make a splash. They have the No. 13 pick. They may be primed for a trade up.
__Tampa Bay:__ Bruce Arians was hired to salvage 2015 No.1 pick Jameis Winston. I can’t see the Buccaneers making a run at Murray. The better bet is for Tampa to try and get in position to draft Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama), Jake Fromm (Georgia) or Justin Herbert (Oregon) in 2020.
